Dakota is:
Jerry G. Hludzik - bass guitar and lead locals
Rick Manwiller - all keyboards and backing vocals
Jon “JL” Lorance - all lead and rhythm guitars
Eli M. Hludzik - drums and percussion, additional backing vocal on “The Last Standing Man”

Dakota uses G.H.S strings exclusively. Eli Hludzik uses Premier Drums / Zildjian cymbals / and Vater sticks exclusively. Jon Lorance plays anything with strings on it, and Rick Manwiller uses whatever’s lying around.

Thanks to: Greg Bilinski, Dan Nardozzi, Carl Josel, Dakota’s crew: Tom Cush, Mike Keating, Dave Skaff (for always in my heart) Gianetta Music, Cossa’s Keyboards and Sound, Mitisko Guitars, The Mere Mortals for their patience with me in getting started on their CD, Augie Umbriac, Brian Murphy and all the gang at Split Rock, Skip Ward, Stephen Wagner and Steve Tolerico.

Special thanks: Tom Borthwick and Joe Wegleski for going the extra everything for this project! (Also to Cathy and to little Nadia for waiting to be born!) Rick, JL and Eli for giving hours, days and months of their time and talents unselfishly.

  • Rick, over the years we’ve weathered many storms together, and have come out on the other side. I think that is special - thank you. JL, a brilliant talent and the definition of a ‘team player’ in the dictionary.

  • Eli, this started out as my gift to you- but you gave me so much more- I’ll treasure this frame in time always.

  • Michael Stahl for our countless phone conversations and for always being there for me. You are my YODA!

  • To Barbara and Abby for putting up with Eli and myself for the last 6 months - Cowboy Bob, Nikole, Snoozie and Irene (my parents) who’s love and support have been endless (you are all my strength and power).

  • Khalil Turk and Barrie Kirtley at Escape Music, for breathing life back into Dakota. Khalil, for you, my friend, thanks for your trust and believing in me.   -Jerry G. Hludzik

Rick would like to thank his parents for many years of financial and moral support, daughter Stephanie for accepting his absence for the duration of ths project, his brothers for their years of musical guidance, Maureen for the easter eggs and Tom Borthwick for the “low-stortion Peavleys.”

Eli would like to thank his parents for being there for him every step of the way, and all his friends, (Doug’s crew, and the Trail crew), and the Dudleys for being his 2nd family. Also Max, Tony, Buddy, Elvin, and Marko for being some of the biggest musical influences in his life. And also the #l influence in his life- his DAD!

JL would like to thank Karl, Sue, Scott, Trish and Chip, Tom, Dorothy and everyone at McGeer’s Pub. Love to Josette and all my family (...and extra special love to Mom and Dad).

In your lifetime, in trying to achieve your goals, you will fall many times. This will make you strong and develop your character, because over the years, you will be judged by your accomplishments along with your failures. But in the end we all will stand alone. So along the way, protect your hopes, your dreams, and most of all... the people you love.

Just believe in the power of your conviction,
Believe in the power of love,
Look to your soul its up to you to make The Plan,
This time he’ll take no prisoners, He’s the last standing man.
